Happy New Year

Hello!  I have another project to share with you that was created for DiscountCardstock.com.

Happy New Year

Oh yes... it's amazing how fast this year went.  And even more fun to realize the New Year is upon us to enjoy and celebrate with friends and family.

This fun card was created with a variety of metallic cardstocks from DiscountCardstock.com.  I used my Cricut to cut a lovely pink martini, olive and all!

Here's a shot of all that metallic glory!

Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC186

Hello!  I'm so excited to be posting today as a Guest Designer for Paper Pretties!  I'll be participating in the November and December releases and challenges.

It's time for another Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC186.  This challenge is to create a card to Ring in the New Year.

New Year's Cocktails

OK... you'll need to be VERY imaginative for this card.  Picture, if you will, a frosty and decidedly adult beverage in a fancy glass.  Now... pretend that's what this is... a delicious adult beverage.  Did my imagery work?!?!?  I'll tell you, my family just didn't see it at all.

I stamped the tree from the O Christmas Tree stamp set, upside-down.  I added a snowflake to the bottom (er, top) of the tree (I mean, glass) to give it a base.  It's plausible, right?

I covered my lacey glass with a coating of Glossy Accents after coloring in a bit of lemony liquid.  A snowflake (or rather, a lemon slice) adds appeal (sorry... bad joke) to the top of my glass.

So, what do you think?

Be sure to stop by the Paper Pretties Blog for more inspiration and details on how to participate.  I think prizes are a part of the deal too!

Isn't he cute?!  I just love this happy snowman.  I stamped the Jolly, Happy Soup (H-1119) image with Black Soot Distress ink and embossed with clear powder.  I colored with copic markers.  As an added detail, I glued a bit of Polar White FlowerSoft to the top of his hat, and his scarf.  Cream pearl pen is added to the center of the star and the dots on the string.

Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC185

Hello!  I'm so excited to be posting today as a Guest Designer for Paper Pretties!  I'll be participating in the November and December releases and challenges.

It's time for another Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC185.  This challenge is to create a project with Snow as the theme!

Let It Snow

This couple is darling, aren't they?  I stamped the Snow Snuggles couple and colored with copic markers.  I gave the sky a few blasts with my airbrush to add in a bit of color.  When I was satisfied with the coloring, I held my clear Atyou Spica pen in the airbrush and added sparkle over the entire image.  It's so shimmery in real life.

Be sure to stop by the Paper Pretties Blog for more inspiration and details on how to participate.  I think prizes are a part of the deal too!

Hello!!!  It's Monday and time for a new Outlines Rubber Stamp design team challengeJoin the Design Team in our weekly challenges with a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate each week!  Please check out the details of how to play and win on the Outlines Blog

This week our challenge was to create a card with snow as the theme.  I hope you'll create along with us this week!

Winter Wonderland

I stamped my Snowman Scene (I-651) with a grey ink.  It's such a soft look... a little dreamy.  I layered on teal papers and added a clear snowflake shape.  This would make a great holiday card because it's easily mass-produced... my favorite kind of holiday card!

I'd love it if you stopped by to visit the other designers for more inspiration.  And don't forget you can join in our fun!

Hello!  It's time for another CPS Sketch project.  This week's sponsor is Flower Soft!

Merry Christmas

The Ruby UltraFine FlowerSoft is just amazing!  It's sparkly and glittery, perfect for holiday projects.  It makes the perfect embellishment for holiday cards, because FlowerSoft adds minimal weight to a finished project.

Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC184

Hello!  I'm so excited to be posting today as a Guest Designer for Paper Pretties!  I'll be participating in the November and December releases and challenges.

It's time for another Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC184.  This challenge is to create a card with white + 1 additional color.

Ahoy!

This was a blast to create!  I stamped the ship from the Ahoy Matey set, colored with copic markers and carefully trimmed.  It's bobbing in a sea of cardstock, with the ripples of waves made from a rick rack die.  Fun, right?

Here's a view from the side... lots of dimension!

Outlines Rubber Stamps Challenge - Shiny and Bright

Hello!!!  It's Monday and time for a new Outlines Rubber Stamp design team challengeJoin the Design Team in our weekly challenges with a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate each week!  Please check out the details of how to play and win on the Outlines Blog

This week our challenge was to create a card or project that is Shiny and Bright.  The project can use metallic papers, crystals, or metal-toned pearl pens!  I hope you'll create along with us this week!

Snowflake Brooch

This week, I opted to make a brooch, using Snowflake Jewel (C-975) as my basis.  I think what drew me to this particular image is all the potential to add crystals.  In addition, the shape is lovely and the proportions (1.5" x 2") makes for a perfect sized fashion accessory.

The steps to create a personal piece of jewelry are very easy.  I stamped the Snowflake Jewel (C-975) image on black cardstock with Versamark ink.  I embossed with silver embossing powder.  I filled in some of the open spaces and the smaller dots with Silver pearl pen - but you could easily add smaller Swarovski crystals.  I glued SS12 Crystals and teardrop crystals (8 mm x 4.8 mm) into the snowflake.  To seal everything, I covered the entire front (not covering the jewels) with Glass Effects Gel.  I adhered a pin back onto the reverse side with Glass Effects Gel.  In fact, to make this an incredibly sturdy piece, I coated the entire back side of my snowflake with Glass Effects Gel and then pressed the pin back into the wet surface.  The finding slipped into the layer and is securely embedded into the shiny exterior.

Here's a picture of my daughter modeling the brooch.
I think it's the perfect scale pin to dress up a scarf or a winter coat.
I'd love it if you stopped by to visit the other designers for more inspiration.  And don't forget you can join in our fun!

CPS Sketch # 247 - Lawn Fawn

Hello!  It's time for another CPS sketch project.  The prize sponsor this week is Lawn Fawn.

Season's Greetings

I wasn't sponsored by Lawn Fawn, so I chose to create with a stamp set waiting for ink in my studio.  I just love Kim Hughes' fun stamp style!  I stamped the Swanky Snowdudes and colored simply with Copic markers.

Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC183

Hello!  I'm so excited to be posting today as a Guest Designer for Paper Pretties!  I'll be participating in the November and December releases and challenges.

It's time for another Paper Pretties Challenge - PWC183.  This challenge is a sketch challenge.  Here's the sketch we used:

Brew Your Coffee

Have I mentioned how much I love sketches?  I do!  They are the perfect way to start a project.  With sketch in hand, I pick my main image and hunt down the perfect patterned paper.  I had fun coloring the Brew Your Coffee image in bright colors.  It's just darling in reds, yellow and green!  And I followed the sketch to a T.

Outlines Rubber Stamps Challenge - Tags!

Hello!!!  It's Monday and time for a new Outlines Rubber Stamp design team challengeJoin the Design Team in our weekly challenges with a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate each week!  Please check out the details of how to play and win on the Outlines Blog

This week our challenge was to create a holiday tag.  I hope you'll create along with us this week!

A Gift for You

I really love to create tags.  Their small size packs a big design punch on a gift.  I stamped Prancer (F-819) on a manila tag.  After coloring with copic markers, I added a little cream and red Pearl pen as details.  I carefully trimmed and layered on another tag made of patterned paper.  Super fast and simple.

I'd love it if you stopped by to visit the other designers for more inspiration.  And don't forget you can join in our fun!
